I’ve decided to eliminate added processed sugar from my life for a year. There I said it, put it in writing, and told you about it! I already have a pretty clean diet, eating mostly whole foods, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and animal protein like eggs, chicken and fish. But there are those days when I have a few dark chocolate chips after lunch, and most days when I have wine with dinner.
As a health coach, I know the effects of added sugar to one’s diet. These can include overweight, anxiety, depression, poor sleep, and chronic conditions such as prediabetes, heart disease, and even cancer. I want to know how I will really feel without any added sugar, and avoiding these maladies certainly is motivating as well.
There’s also the fact that I’ve put on a few pounds over the last year during the pandemic when I was moving around less, and for sure having more than just one glass of wine at night. And I hit a milestone birthday last month, so why not do something great for my health.
So here I go – Day 1. I’ll be blogging about my experience here during the year, and posting on Facebook so feel free to follow my adventure.
Wish me luck!
