Day 5
Yesterday the magnitude of what I’ve taken on hit me! I was super excited over the last few days at the prospect of the new challenge to eliminate added sugar from my diet for a year. I remained positive even though not all reactions to this announcement were, and I was motivated and energized by everyone who cheered me on. I realized that this challenge was going to test my mental toughness.
I had a great Saturday morning, probably because I had plans, was busy, and productive. Then, after lunch the headache and cravings started. It was in my head. I wasn’t hungry, after all I had just eaten lunch. My husband suggested I relax and take a nap. I took an Advil, and then a nap and felt much better. Then I stayed in bed and watched Netflix on my ipad. Retreating to my bedroom and my bed on a Saturday afternoon is extremely rare, but I let it be, and felt better. I know it will get easier. I’m not giving up.
Thank you watermelon for getting me through a tough day.
This morning I woke up with a smile on my face.
