My Sugar Free Year - Day 20

Even though desserts don’t tempt me, I am still getting an occasional craving for some dark chocolate.  So, last night when I prepped my morning green smoothie, I added cacao powder to see if that helps.  It’s so good and I’ll get a dose of magnesium too.
 
When I first started this no sugar adventure, I was looking for a bit of dark chocolate almost every day, and avoided having it, and now, the craving is much less frequent. The cacao powder is a super food with antioxidants and no added sugar, so it’s a great go-to for chocolate flavor.
 
Yesterday, I made a chocolate avocado mousse. It’s just 2 avocados, 3 tablespoons of cacao powder, ¼ cup almond milk and 1 tsp of maple syrup, but I left out the maple syrup.  The ingredients get blended it in a food processor and then the mousse is divided into 4 small dishes.  My tiny glass bowls I use for snacks were the perfect vessel.  This treat is really good with the maple syrup, but that’s not on the plan for the next year. It was still delish especially topped with a few raspberries.
