A study I read yesterday stated that two fruits a day lowers the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 36% in five years compared to eating less than half a serving per day. Higher fruit intake of apples, bananas, oranges and other citrus fruits was linked to better measures of glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity. 
 
Sugar is our bodies preferred fuel, but added sugar - no need. Headed to the kitchen to make a fruit salad!
