Day 77
I’m home!
After 13 hours of travel yesterday, it feels SWEET to be home as I was welcomed by flowers and a sugar free dinner. I had a great time with my mom and sister and we were all investigating hidden sugars as we traveled.
Here are some things we three found with sugar and some without.
With added sugar:
Lots of bottled salad dressings from my hosts fridge
Beets tossed with sugar before plating
Lemon vinaigrette dressing and raspberry balsamic dressing at the restaurants
Peppadew peppers
Pulled pork with BBQ sauce – well of course!
Flourless chocolate cake – no kidding
Seltzer with a splash of cranberry juice (31 g per cup of juice)
Cinnamon butter (honey added)
Dinner rolls
McDonalds Egg McMuffin (yesterday morning at 7:00 am) only 2 g added sugar
Here are some things we enjoyed without added sugar:
Quinoa bowl with steamed vegetables
Grilled salmon with steamed broccolini and shaved fennel (this was our favorite dish of our stay)
Salad with lettuce, hardboiled egg, cucumbers and grilled shrimp, no dressing
Water with lemon – all day and night
Herbal Tea – in the spa
Black coffee – in the room first thing
Poached eggs
Fresh fruit cup
I’m looking forward to see what seasonal produce is in the organic coop basket today and to start cooking again after a week of no grocery shopping, planning, and cooking. It was a good break I must say and the no sugar adventure made it possible to make healthy choices.
