My Sugar Free Year - Day 182

I’m headed to a restaurant chain called “Just Salad” tomorrow and have to order in advance because it’s a large group and we don’t want to wait.  Have you tried Just Salad? They have a great menu with all kinds of healthy options.  Their menu will tell you if the meal contains gluten, is Vegan, Keto, or (something new to me) Climatarian.  
 
Of course, I checked the nutrition facts for sugar, however, the nutrition facts just show the total sugars, and don’t break out the added sugars.  They don’t have all ingredients listed on the website, which I can understand, so I’ll have to speak up tomorrow and ask about added sugar. 
 
I looked into this a bit more today, and it turns out that the FDA requires businesses to provide, upon request, the following written nutrition information for standard menu items: total calories; total fat; saturated fat; trans fat; cholesterol; sodium; total carbohydrates; sugars; fiber; and protein. But they don’t require added sugars!!!!!  Hello sugar association – wow!  Maybe it was just an oversight – HA! 
 
Anyway, I’m looking forward to my new experience at Just Salad tomorrow, and seeing my health and wellness friends.
