Day 335
Wow, just wow! One month to go to reach 365 days and I am re-committing, as I have not been completely free of added sugars lately. June 1st was my birthday, and I’ve not just celebrated once. Doesn’t everyone celebrate their birthday month?
The other night out to a birthday celebration dinner with another couple, I found myself reaching for a bite of my husband’s dessert. That’s an old pattern of mine - don’t order the dessert, just have a bite of his. It’s fine, and a good way to go, but during my sugar- free year I wasn’t doing that, until now. The night before that, at a dinner party with friends, it happened as well. Why does he have to eat cake and ice cream! I can’t blame him. It was my choice.
Going completely sugar free forever might not be a reasonable goal for me, but this year has taught me so much. Learning how to avoid sugar, rid myself of any sugar cravings, and understanding the why, where, and when of sugar for me has been a great process and one I will continue.
I want to go for one big push for the rest of the month, and work back up to writing a blog about it each day. So, I’ll see you tomorrow.
